The Alchemy Team Our team is made up of positive, dynamic people that have experience in commercialisation and innovative industries. We don’t focus excessively on “the box” or technology, that’s our clients role, but we are passionately dedicated to servicing clients with all the “soft skills” and support services that are required to maximize commercial outcomes from their early stage products and technologies. Dan is the founder and Managing Director of Alchemy Equity. Active in the commercialisation space for most of his career, Dan is responsible for client development and investment strategy. An entrepreneur in his own right, Dan's early career utilised his Bachelor of Science degree (with 1st class honours), to develop aquaculture opportunities in Australia and Latin America. Dan went on to consult to government and was invited to establish the Hunter Innovation Advisory Service at Newcastle University. Dan has over 15 years experience with innovative enterprises and has held various senior management roles in Research, Government and Industry. His commendable positions include - General Manager directly responsible for raising $4M for an aquaculture industry start-up company and Founding Manager of the NSW Government funded Hunter Innovation Advisory Centre. Dan established Alchemy in 2004 with a focus on early stage commercialisation. Recognising the challenges to attract early stage finance - Alchemy became one of the early sponsoring members of ASSOB. Dan is a current member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the International Licensing Executives Society. He is a nationally recognised speaker on early stage commercialisation and has served as panelist and judge for Pitch 08 and Young Bizstar 2008 competitions.
Kate Ingham, Senior Client Manager Kate is an accredited member of ASSOB and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She provides innovation advisory and capital raising services at Alchemy. Kate has a BA (Comm) degree. She was Director, Pitch 08 and Pitch 07 assessing applications and coaching SME's in the art of pitching to investors. She was Director, Industry and Cultural Development wih the Australian Film Commission and managed a range of media organisations in both Australia and NYC. Kate has served as an independent assessor for the Department of Commmunications Inofrmation Technology and the Arts. She brings to Alchemy a strong understanding of project deal making, managing public companies, marketing, communications and change management.
James Claridge, Client Manager James Claridge came to ASSOB as an investor in a few matters and as a result has chosen to establish himself as a sponsoring member with Alchemy. James is a highly qualified professional with over 20 years experience in risk management, business valuation and actuarial activity. He has a strong interest in innovation, science and technology and holds degrees in Economics, Science and Arts as well as risk management and actuarial qualifications. James' experience covers a wide range of risk and financial analysis in the financial services sector, infrastructure and other industries, including detailed financial projections and modelling, valuations of businesses for sale or acquisition, risk assessment and mitigation strategies, complex liability valuations, product pricing and profitability assessment.
Tony Banh has joined Alchemy as a Client Manager. He has 10 years experience in the area of marketing and business development. He is been involved in buying and selling small business, marketing and consulting in the Retail and Online space. He holds a degree in I.T Ecommerce/ Marketing. Outside of work he enjoys travelling to exotic locations, next on the list - the Maldives.
Kelly has developed extensive research skills throughout her fifteen year career as a qualified librarian working within information departments of academic and large public libraries. Kelly is comfortable searching both electronic and traditional formats, using a range of techniques for accessing the internet and specific databases. Using her skills, Kelly is able to create a complete information package for clients including patent searching and marketplace analysis.
Karly is completing an Arts Law degree at Southern Cross University and has worked in an administration management role with a number of companies.
Chris is an IT support consultant who assists with Alchemy's networking and data management needs.
Lakshmi Krishnan, Research and Administration Assistant Lakshmi has a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering and a Masters in Computer Information Systems. She lived in the US for 11 years working in a range of Universities including University of Michigan and Middle Tennessee State University. |
